February 4 - 10, 2008:
  • Year of the Rat
    Celebrate the Chinese New Year on February 7 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Bring the whole family. There will be Chinese food, games, songs and music. Learn calligraphy and how to use chop sticks.
  • Move It and Lose It Lecture series
    "Heart Smart" Find out if you are at risk for a heart attack or stroke and what you can do to reduce that risk. Hear Dottie Kauffmann, RN Cardiac Rehabilitation Nurse Coordinator with Goshen Health System on February 6 at 7 p.m. at the library.
  • Yak, Snack & Read
    Come and yak with us on Tuesday, February 19. Yak by Day is at 1:00 p.m. and Yak by Night is at 7:00 p.m. This month’s book for both groups is “Wild Swans: Three Daughters of China”. Stop by to pick up the book.

  • Story Time
    Sessions are for preschoolers ages 3 to 5 and meet Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Classes start Jan. 30 and 31.
  • Toddler Time
    Sessions are for 18 to 36 month-olds and meet Tuesdays at 10 a.m. Each child must bring an adult. Classes start Feb. 5. Sign-up requested.
  • Cinema Showcase
    At 1:00 p.m. on Feb. 5 see “Pride”, an inspiring true-life story based on a charismatic teacher who founded an African-American swim team in one of Philadelphia’s toughest neighborhoods.
  • Give Your Favorite Book a Kiss
    Children (12 and under) can help decorate the Valentine’s bulletin board in the children’s department. Pick up a pair of lips to color at the Children’s Desk and return them by Valentine’s Day.
